Now I'm not an expert in fighting games, I still consider myself a beginner. But you can't lie that they are some of the funnest games to play once you figure out the controls and combos. Of course everyone has heard of the Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat and most likely have played them in the arcades. Everyone knows the iconic characters from both franchises whether it's Ryu or Scorpion. However another series I don't here much about compared to these 2 is the Injustice games.
Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013)
Netherrealm's 2013 game was a big impact on the DC universe. It was even made as a comic to bring in more lore. And it is a dream to play as your favorite DC character and have them fight each other.
Of course there were problems. Such as a lack of a block button. Instead you had to either crouch down or hold back. Very hard to do and time right if you're used to other titles that have a block button. For awhile this was the only pure DC fighting game. And there was also a successful mobile game that was just as popular.
Injustce 2 (2017)
Then in 2017 Injustice 2 was released. The game had many improvements such as graphics and animation. It also introduced a new gear system. So you can customize characters and increase their stats. Sadly there still was no block button.
Injustice: Year Zero was released this year which is a prequel comic series to the franchise involving older characters. Question remains, will there be another game? After all other DC games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad were announced to be released the next upcoming years. Hopefully we will get a block button. They are teasing us at this point.
